Lempert has a Masters Degree in Communication and started her career as a professional actress. She now helps business executives pitch their ideas and inspire employees and customers. Her clients include Medidata, AvePoint, AT Kearney, DigitasLBi, TD Canada Trust, BMO, PIMCO and Prophet Consulting & Design.

Isaac Rodriguez,
CE, Provident Loan Society of New York

“PowerPoint can be a very creative and effective tool for presentations, but unfortunately many presenters don’t know how to create a visual presentation,” said Lempert. “Most presenters make the same mistakes; they add too many slides or include too much information on one slide. From a visual perspective, that makes the presentation less effective.”

recent survey by Think Outside the Slide shows roughly 7 percent of respondents see at least one presentation every day of the work week. The same survey shows most of those respondents don’t believe the presenters devoted enough time to preparing the presentation. As a result, the PowerPoint presentation can become boring and unprofessional.

On Thursday, Sept. 28, Lempert will share some of her favorite secrets on how to keep any audience engaged.

Attendees will learn what is the best number of slides for a 20-minute presentation, and how TV sitcom writing will transform their presentation. She’ll also elaborate on how to end any presentation so people will leave thinking: that was great.

“We can apply many tactics from Sitcom TV writing to our presentations,” said Lempert. “Attendees will never watch TV sitcoms the same way. You’ll start rethinking how to apply some of their tactics to your PowerPoint presentation.”

The not-for-profit Provident Loan Society hosts a SPEAKeasy series every third Thursday of the month to educate the community on personal and business development. It’s an opportunity for New Yorkers to network and meet with other professionals.

“Many of our customers are small business owners and leaders who are trying to develop their business and careers,” said Isaac Rodriguez, CEO of The Provident Loan Society of New York. “The SPEAKeasy series is a free event that brings us all together to learn from the best about how to succeed in business and with your personal life.”

Homeschooling has been said to offer safety of your children, quality education, and it also gives the child values that have been instilled by the parent. Teach Your Children to Be Entrepreneurs With MakePi

Press Release

updated: Sep 21, 2017 13:06 PDT

Entrepreneurship does not relate simply to creating stuff. Period. And this misconception should be disrupted from the very beginning. Otherwise, children will not understand failure as part of the creation process, for instance. Perhaps, the most important one. Beyond that, children should be taught to be entrepreneurs by making educational technology one meaningful component of their curriculum. Likewise, MakePi has developed one DIY concept that will provide great opportunities to foster collaboration and communication within students, teachers, and families, involving them towards critical thinking and problem-solving paths.

Here are some other aspects to be taken into consideration to encourage children to be entrepreneurs:

  • Grit over talent: develop the will to thrive, not giving up, trying harder! MakePi has designed embarked applications for the MakePad, such as the Make-mods. This solution will challenge any children to code their way through the Minecraft platform. They will learn how to code with Blockly by dragging and dropping variables and commands into the game with their own fingertips!
  • Purpose over common sense: build dreams and pursue them! By assembling components by themselves, children will develop reasoning skills and discover how computers work. MakePi and its DIY concept will allow children to learn electronics with full hands-on experience;
  • Creating over mimicking: collaborate to create! With Make-music application, children will learn to code and, therefore, produce original digital music by interacting with Blockly language.

MakePi foster creativity, either at home and schools. Finally, encourages children from all over the world to have grit, purpose and create their own ideas! Subscribe to MakePi newsletter and have access to updates, special offers and much more.

MakePi is a startup that was born to empower learners, makers and educators. The company has a background in STEM education and technology that comprises Happy Code’s computer science teaching across U.S., Latin America and Europe. Bell Robot Announces the Crowdfunding Campaign and Launch of Their Modular Interactive Robotics Learning Kit for Kids

Press Release

updated: Sep 21, 2017 10:05 PDT

Mabot takes learning and makes it fun. Their interactive robotics learning kit is an educational toy designed especially for kids and youngsters. It’s the first modular robot kit that allows nearly endless combinations of robot builds that is simple to use, educational, as well as fun for the whole family.

Using a series of modular balls that easily connect together, a virtually endless number of robots can be built. Building and modifying robots is fast and simple using hot-plugin, a feature that allows the balls to be connected and disconnected without the need to turn off the power. A Battery Ball powers other components that drive the robot, sense colors and objects nearby and even pick things up. A Brain Ball controls it all along with two intuitive Apps that make programming fun and easy, the Mabot Go App and the more advanced, Mabot IDE App.

For beginners, the Mabot Go App includes pre-set, step-by-step build instructions for more than 10 robots that guide new builders toward their goal while demonstrating basic coding. Once users are ready to take it to the next level, the advanced Mabot IDE App is used to program the robot for more complicated tasks using coding blocks similar to Arduino. Having two Apps creates a pathway to learning for young programmers who can learn and grow at their own pace.

As engineers, robotics experts and parents, we realize the importance of raising children with valuable skills for the future. But we also know that learning must be fun in order to fully engage kids. We designed Mabot with fun as a first priority and then created a learning system that kids love.

Alvin Wang,
Bell Robot’s CEO

Mixing and matching the robotic modules lets kids create robots with different looks, uses and functions. The Mabot is also compatible with the popular Lego brand toys, putting a modern spin on a classic kid’s favorite and adding another dimension to creative building.

The Team behind Mabot is Bell Educational Group, a leader in robotic learning curriculum for kids. They developed Mabot in response to feedback from parents and teachers about the difficulty of getting kids interested in STEM learning. Mabot was created as a powerful learning tool for youngsters age six and up to engage kids in a totally new and fun way of learning robotics and programming.

Mabot is currently being launched via a Kickstarter campaign so they can reward early adopters with special deals and pricing.
