Posted: Wednesday 19 April 2017

Health and social care student Hannah Butler is one step closer to achieving her dream career after her work placement at Oaklea Nursery led to the offer of a full-time position.

The former Culcheth High School pupil was delighted when she was contacted recently and offered employment once she finishes her course in June.

Hannah, who is studying the level 3 diploma at Warrington Collegiate, spent several weeks at the nursery, in Atherton, between November 2016 and February 2017.

“I really enjoyed my time at Oaklea Nursery,” said 18-year-old Hannah.

“For them to offer me a full-time position when I finish college is just amazing – it makes me feel like I have accomplished something. My dream is to work with children and be a nursery manager, so this is an incredible opportunity for me and takes me one step closer to achieving that goal.”

During her time at Warrington Collegiate, Hannah has completed work placements at numerous organisations, including care homes and primary schools.

She added: “I have really enjoyed the course, especially the placements. The course has helped me to find out what I want to do in the future. It has definitely given me the skills and knowledge that I need to go on and reach my goals.”
